The International Sarcopenia Translational Research Conference will be held on 11-12 June 2020 in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
Sarcopenia is a growing area of clinical and research activity, and the need for more widespread diagnosis and development of treatment options is pressing. Translational research is key to these aims. Great strides are being made in our scientific understanding of sarcopenia and muscle health, and the challenge now is to translate these advances into better care and better treatments for older people.
To achieve our vision of ‘Better, fairer health and care at all ages and in all places’, the NIHR ARC NENC is pleased to invite original and high quality research proposals focussed upon regional health and care priorities. These should aim to improve health and social care outcomes in those communities and sectors facing the greatest challenges and generate original research outputs.
The Great North Academy Day will be held at The Great Hall, University of Leeds, on 20 April 2020.
‘Unleashing the Power of Translational Research’ is supported by the Academy of Medical Scientists to bring together people beginning or developing careers in translational research across the north of England and is a great opportunity to build networks with your peers and senior academics, hear from people who have successfully started their own companies or built collaborations across academia and industry, and raise your profile within the northern translational research community The programme for the event is attached; further details of the event and registration are available here.
