The Government wishes to see a dramatic rise and sustained improvement in the performance of all providers of NHS services in both initiating clinical trials and delivering research.  The aim is to both increase the number of patients taking part in research and enhance the nation’s attractiveness as a host for research.

NHS providers holding NIHR contracts issued after autumn 2011 are required to provide, on a quarterly basis, information on recruitment to clinical trials, including commercial contract trials.

Two key areas are required to be submitted; initiating clinical research and delivering clinical research. The most recent submissions for NUTH can be seen here:
