Internal BRC call for Interdisciplinary Research Proposals

Deadline Friday 8th November 2024, 17:00

This initiative aims to provide researchers within NUTH, CNTW and Newcastle University with the opportunity to establish cross-discipline collaborations and to develop synergistic programmes of research that align with the BRC’s vision to transform lives through world-class research in ageing and multiple long-term conditions.

We encourage proposals from applicants who do not currently have links with the BRC but are keen to develop them. We welcome cross-faculty collaborations, proposals involving local NHS trusts and collaborations with industry partners.

  • Funding up to £10k per project is available
  • Projects should start in April 2025
  • Projects should be no more than 12 months’ duration

Please submit a Project Initiation Form (PIF) at the earliest convenience to inform the resources and costs for your application. This will ensure that your proposed project is supportable, feasible and deliverable within the £10,000 project cap.

The PIF will engage the Newcastle University (NU) and NHS Funding Development teams who will collate the NU and NHS budget, as relevant, and will inform the Governance discussions regarding a provisional Sponsorship decision.

It takes a minimum of 4 weeks to process a PIF submission. Therefore, to meet the 8th November deadline, please ensure your PIF is submitted prior to 11th October 2024 to enable the relevant discussions and approvals required – there will be no guarantee of formal application support where PIFs are submitted after this date.

Further guidance for this opportunity can be found in the application form
