Research Funding opportunity: NIHR SCPRA Round 2 (1st October 2024)

Following the success of the first round, the NIHR will tomorrow launch the second round of the Senior Clinical and Practitioner Research Award (SCPRA)which will close at the end of November.

This will provide up to 5 years of funding for post-doctoral individuals to resource their engagement in research activities including between 20% and 50% protected time from within the individual’s current role and provision for training and development.

The scheme is aimed at individuals requiring additional support to develop their track record as an academic leader, subsequently enabling them to submit a competitive application for further NIHR career development funding or to take up a Senior Clinical Academic role at their Host Organisation.

Newcastle Health Innovation Partners (NHIP) will be hosting a ‘Know your Funder’ event on 10th October at 4-5pm which will be attended by Prof Anne-Maree Keenan (panel Chair) and two Newcastle panel members. We strongly encourage potential applicants to register and attend this event.
